Artist Bio

I was born in Denver, USA.  That's where I created my first masterpiece at the age of 2, with my fingers dipped...both hands knuckles deep...in my fathers inkwell.  I made the most beautiful artwork on the desk and then on the hardwood floors.  I used my hands first, and then my feet.  Oh I thought it was glorious! Of course, that didn't go over very well with my parents, but from then on I was hooked.

I was discouraged like many other young creatives. Hearing things like: "Don't waste your time on art. You'll never be able to make a good living."  Sooooo...I went to college, picked up a few various degrees and certifications on my way. Through out my life I started many different careers, but the whole time I would sneak away to create.  I consistently took as much of my Art time back as I could manage.  Once an Artist, always an artist!

Fast forward to Current day.  I'm now working as a full time artist creating whimsical, magical paintings large and small. I use cutouts from different FlowArt technique canvases that I paint to create stories of a moment in time. I use techniques like layered cup pours to create undulating backgrounds. I use a Bloom technique to create flowers with webbing, fruit with cells, leaves with veins and many other elements. I use swipes to create cells, bubbles, and webbing textures for other useful objects.  And...of course, I still use the traditional paint brush to add additional details.

I'm using new synergistic ways of looking at color and organic outcomes. I invite innovative creativity into my artwork.  Color play is such a big part of my paintings. I use bright and bold colors to speak loudly or pastel and muted when the story is soft & quiet.  Color organically blending and placed whispers to the eyes stirring the soul to hear what the ears do not hear.

My paintings are an expression of transformation through creativity, resilience. and adaptability.  I take all the best parts of any situation and rebuild a more positive outcome with them.  It's fascinating to me how life changing events can be learning opportunities to transform into something beautiful and meaningful for all to experience.

I believe our ability to create and express ourselves sets us apart.  I believe we are givers and co-creators.  We create that which speaks to our soul. When it feels right and beautiful we want to share it with the world.  Artist live in an ever changing landscape of new ideas that express their vision. This is what makes us uniquely human.  It's where I believe humanity can make it's biggest strides forward.

I truly hope you find joy and beauty in my Art. That it reflects beauty and resilience in you. Remember, anything is possible when you listen to and express your own voice.  So sing your song no matter what happens.  Express you vision, because life happens fast.
