I painted this purse shaped keepsake box with several pinks, fuchsia and burgundy using a swipe technique on both sides.  Next I applied a scratch resistant resin over the painted surface. Finally I stained the exposed wood and finished with gloss varnish.  Beautiful no matter which way it sits.
